A B S T R A C T E D   L A N D S C A P E 

ABSTRACTED LANDSCAPE is a series using the "zigzag" pattern, going across the canvas, and abstracting the horizon line. The zigzag pattern represents nature in a general sense, and depicts the constant wave of energy, the constant motion nature has, and the interconnected of energy in everything that surrounds us as a people. The zig zag design pattern is used throughout a vast diversity of indigenous nations to represent different elements and forces of nature including but not limited to water, lighting, wind and representations of protection, etc. I have used this design and generalized it in my thinking and in my work to represent all of nature . Through this generalized idea of nature, I created a landscape type painting with a foreground, middle ground, and background. Through this work I strive to create an abstract sense of an unidentifiable place, an unknown atmosphere, and to let them escape somewhere for a moment.
